Garstang Running Club members have been shocked and saddened by the untimely death of former member Dave Clarke.  Well known as an organizer of races throughout the North West, Dave’s laid back approach could only be marvelled at when surrounded by dozens of runners complaining that his mile markers were “out” by ten yards!  The road racing fraternity and life in general will be the poorer for his passing.  The club sends their condolences to Dave’s wife Di and family.

Coniston 14 was a race Dave should have administered and many runners who knew Dave well competed in the race after giving his memory a well deserved round of applause.  Four club members took part with Richard Roberts leading the way, 38th in 1.28.11 followed by Richard Jones 125th in 1.36.33, Dave Heslop 295th in 1.45.34 and Julie Graham 871st of the 1359 competitors in 2.08.02.
