Dave Neilands reports . . . .

Rumours of holding hands at races was surely not the reason Richard Jones and Tim Warner elected to go for separate races at the week-end.  Richard chose the Dallam Dash 10k at Milnthorpe where in a small field of only 96 he finished 32nd in 42.01 minutes.  Tim went further a field to put his recent marathon training to good use at the Keswick Half Marathon, where 518 runners took on the challenging course.  Finishing 118th in an excellent 1 hour 35 minutes this was excellent speed work for his second marathon of the year at Windermere in a few weeks time.

Richard Roberts, as he said he would, has been out on the fells again – for the Three Peaks he finished 124th in 3hours 58 minutes just dipping under his target of four hours.  The last of the 459 competitors completed the course in 6 hours 10 minutes.  The Coniston Fell Race was a little less challenging and Richard finished 48th of the 178 finishers in 1 hour 32 minutes
