Garstang Running Club members have been showing their versatility, none more so than Dave Old who put in an impressive performance at the Chester Triathlon.
Finishing the three discipline event in 194th place out of 413
competitors but only 33 minutes behind the winner Dave completed the
1.5K swim in 32.54 minutes, the 40K bike ride in 1 hour 15.26 and a
storming 10K in 43.38 – he has run “standalone”
10K’s slower!
Three members tested their walking on water skills at the Across the Bay Half Marathon in Morecambe Bay where in a field of 185 Richard Jones finished 36th in 1.38.23, is he starting to improve, Tim Warner 46th in 1.41.53 and Frank Miller 85th in 1.51.54, is he sinking fast?
Richard Roberts was on the Fells, firstly for the Two Lads Race at Horwich where he finished 43rd in a field of 226 and then at the Settle Hills where he finished 20th of the 98 finishers.
Last but certainly not least newest member Ray Todd finished 44th in 25.02 minutes at the Chorley Park 5K.
