Dave Neilands reports . . . .

November in the North West offers runners looking for personal bests two great opportunities on fast and flat roads. A total of 900 runners took part in the two races with 9 competitors from Garstang Running Club -  not all of them looking for pb’s!!  At the Preston 10 a two lap 10 mile race Tim Warner led the club home in 105th place in 1 hour 09.03 minutes, followed by Greg Hunter 125th in 1.11.34, Malcolm Vinnicombe 163rd in 1.14.14, and Phillipa Olive 1.22.20 with the last of the 385 finishers completing in 2.04.46 minutes.

Phillipa was out again at Wesham 10K finishing 210th in 49.59 minutes with Graham Tagg 22nd in 38.01, Al Hartley 56th in 41.03, Brian Hughes 291st in 54.28 and his wife Denise, one place and one second behind, looks like Brian was showing no mercy!!

Less frenetic fare was to be had at the Eaves Wood Trail race near Silverdale which saw Richard Jones finishing 35th in 42.29 minutes with the last of the 116 competitors who enjoyed the autumn scenery finishing in 1 hour 7 minutes.
